What is Pet Aquamation?

The process of pet aquamation is also known as alkaline hydrolysis, water-based cremation, bio-cremation, green cremation, or flameless cremation. It differs from flame cremation because it uses the natural decomposition process to break down the body but does so at an accelerated rate and is a more eco-friendly pet cremation system because it is far gentler on the environment than traditional flame cremation.

As with any organic entity, the body of your pet returns to the earth without harming the environment. When pet owners opt to use aquamation as an eco-friendly pet cremation alternative, the method combines gentle water flow, temperature, and alkalinity to accelerate the natural breakdown of organic materials.

Tree-in-a-Bag

The "Tree-in-a-Bag" initiative began as a way of helping to ease the grief of losing a pet. As the tree grows, this helps to keep the memory of your beloved pet alive.

Just like your pet, these seeds, need love and attention to grow and flourish. You will be able to see the circle-of-life continue through this pet remembrance tree, giving an entirely “new life” to the animal you have laid to rest and also contribute to the health of our environment.

How to plant and care for your Tree-in-a-bag.

  1. Add 100 ml of water to the eco-friendly, compostable bag and mix well.
  2. Take a sharp object and poke two holes in to the bottom of the bag to allow excess water to drain.
  3. Place the bag into a pot.
  4. Poke a 2 cm deep hole in the centre of the soil with your finger.
  5. Place a seed into the hole and then bury it in the soil mix, compacting it nicely. (Keep the second seed as a back-up, just in case).
  6. Place the pot in a sunny area.
  7. Keep the top layer moist by watering it every day. The soil should not be too wet.
Tree-in-a-Bag

Seeds normally germinate readily between 5 and 9 weeks after being planted. Once the tree is growing, it can be replanted into your garden or a bigger pot.

We trust that you will enjoy this journey of watching new life emerge from the soil. May you remember the happiest moments with your beloved pet as this tree grows into something beautiful.
